Online English Language Development (ELD)

Module 1: English Literacy Assessments (Entry and Exit)

English learners enter our school system with differing levels of literacy. Every student is unique, so an individualized learning path is needed. To enable teachers to better understand each student’s individual strengths and weaknesses, we offer thorough “entry” and “exit” assessments aligned with the latest English testing standards.  Our assessment approach uniquely provides equity of access for English learners of any level.

The entry assessment results will reveal where each student needs more support. Teachers can then assign to the student the applicable self-paced online lesson modules. We also provide teachers with actionable pedagogical recommendations on what they can do in the classroom to further address specific literacy gaps.

The exit assessment, taken after the online lessons are completed, gives a clear picture of student progression. Teachers can view results of individual students and their class as a whole.
